This was originally developed so that one specific bottle could be distinguished from its brethren under dim light. The vertical structure of the Gaucho knot seems to cry out for the graphic slash of a lightning stroke of some width. It does differentiate the rank of bottles one from another, but I have also come to like the bold slash. Now I tie it on bottles for other uses or other people. They all seem to like the graphic stroke ripping up the side in a saw-toothed blaze. It is now one of my most requested options – from those that get to chose.
What do you think about it – is it best as a single line like this one – or as a double thick stroke like this one. This was unnumbered but was actually #01 in the Medicine Bottle collection.
I always value thoughtful input, whether it is a pat on the back, or a more vigorous attention getter administered a little lower on the body. Intimate knowledge of knots isn’t required; you can just give your aesthetic or artistic evaluation.
