Grip Detail On Butt Of A AAA Flashlight

The Turk’s Head on the left is Bruce Grant’s “Two Bight Turk’s Head Of Any Length”. In this case that works out to be about 4 1/2″ by 3/4″. This makes the barrel large enough to be easily held. The knot that loops through the end ring is a sailor’s lanyard knot a/k/a the Chinese button knot. It is there to act as a fob when the flashlight is in my pocket, and as an extended grip stop when in use. It has seen extended use and is getting to be raggedy and stained enough to warrant replacement.
