Medicine Bottle #11 With Green & Black Herringbone Interweave

On we go with the march of the medicine bottles. This has one of my variations on the herringbone interweave. The green base knot is a typical Turk’s Head. The black interweave is unusual because it stops short of the edges. Most of the knots you see with an interweave go to or past the last crossings on the edge of the base knot. Stopping short gives a framing effect to the knot. I make most of my pineapple / herringbone interweaves like everyone else does. Sometimes, particularly if I plan on further knots abutting the edges of a knot, I will make this type of edge for the visual separation it provides.

And your thoughts on this are ….? I hope you enjoy the show even if you don’t leave a comment, but I am truly interested in your ideas on any of my stuff.
